Richard Ginori Ceramic Tea Set attr. Gio Ponti

Height: 22 cm Width: 23 cm Depth: 11 cm
Ceramic tea service made by Richard Ginori to a design by Gio Ponti in the 1950s, of fine Italian workmanship. Trademark present on the base of the service.
The service consists of a total of 27 complete pieces, plus two hats for the teapot and sugar bowl.
The set consists of 12 very simple white ceramic cups, cylindrical in shape with a gold-edged handle. The cups also have a gold rim, as do the saucers, which are round in shape with a gold outline.
A milk jug, with a classic spout, is present.
The teapot is the largest item in the set; it has a tall cylindrical shape. The spout is tall, long and narrow at the end, all edged in gold with a unique elegance.
The sugar bowl is much more elongated in length.
The glaring element that refers to Gio Ponti is the use of the cameo image: a head in profile of a man, Greek style.
