Gastone Rinaldi Cinema Chairs Mod. LV 4 for the Piccolo Milano, 1952
Height: 82,5 cm, Width: 103 cm, Depth: 38 cm
Rare pair of cinematic chairs by Gastone Rinaldi for the IL Piccolo Milano theater in 1952. The model in question is LV 4.
The pair of cinema or theater chairs is one of the first examples for the IL PICCOLO Theater in Milan. Made of wood for the seat and back, while the frame of the legs is in sheet metal. Rinaldi through the inclination of the seat recreates the perfect balance to be comfortable even at the cinema. In the feet of the chair in the sheet metal part we notice some holes that were used to anchor the seat to the floor with dowels. Subsequently Zanuso takes up the same armchair and creates a new one with an evolution, creating the LV 5 model in aluminum and Plastorima and base in sheet metal.
