Vittorio Introini Rare Folding Table for Sormani, 1970

Height: 72 cm Width: 149 cm Depth: 149 cm
Rare wooden table designed by Vittorio Introini in the 1970s for the fine Italian manufacturer Sormani. The truly rare table is made entirely of a fabulous dark fine wood. The base is made up of two rectangular panels neatly fitted together to create an obvious X. The closed table has a very simple square shape, but its rarity lies precisely in the fact that you can see the panels that can be opened, as it is a table that can be adjusted in size. For each corner there is a triangle that can be opened; opening all 4 creates a square twice the size of the closed one, leaving the rhomboid shape in the center.
