Vintage Silver Sauce Holder Duet, 1940

Pair of vintage 1940s Silver-plated metal sauce holders, fine Berndurf workmanship.
The pair is made entirely of silver, now more burnished due to time, but which can always be polished and renewed.
The two sauce holders are both low and elongated. The base is oval and supports the central body, which is wide and long, with a spout that is longer than normal so that sauces do not get dirty.
The handle is also more elongated than normal, as the grip needs to be firm and its silver handle allows this.
They are ideal for thick dinners or lunches.
