Director's chair in sturdy oak and bamboo with rattan and brass details and caramel leather seat and back. Designed for John & Elinor McGuire for the McGuire Furniture company in San Francisco in the late 1950s. Superbly made with oak frames giving the effect of bamboo with rattan detailing. The brass country-style hinges and subframe add to their decorative appeal. These chairs fold and collapse if required. High quality soft aniline leather has been used for the seat and back in lovely condition, with the manufacturer's brass badge underneath.
